Many of you Magento web developers out there may know – the PDF invoice template in Magento is reasonably hideous to look at.

I’ve taken it upon myself to create a much nicer version of it, which I have used on a couple of sites; I haven’t come across any issues with it as of yet, although I’m sure there may well be some tweaks that need to be made, so if you do use it, and make any tweaks to better it, please let me know and I will update the files!

Download the template files

Improvements Include:

Increased Font Size

More Legible Font (Sans-Serif)

Order/Invoice Numbers and Date Moved to Top Right

Address Fits on 3 lines to the right of the logo

Lighter Colour Scheme, more appropriate for printing

Much cleaner style

Magento Invoice Before

Magento Invoice After

Not all of the files in the zip have been edited, but I put them all in to keep them together and help any fellow hackers to find the right files.

Install the Magento Invoice Template

To install the template, simply unpack the zip file attached to this post, and upload to your Magento “app/code” folder. The files are all stored in the “local” folder, which means no core files will be overwritten.

Let me know how you get on!

Well yet again it’s been a while since I’ve had chance to do any sort of blogging. The other day while I had a bit of spare time I decided to have a play with the Coda Slider and Cufon font replacement. I’ve used the Coda Slider to create a fully working website.

I’ve not had time to check through it completely or had time to 100% browser check it so there may be a few slight issues. If you do come across any please let me know and I will do my best to sort them out.

Please feel free to live it and download the template below but please leave the credits to this , cufon and the codaslider website.

OK I thought it might be time to create a new free template as it has been well over a year since my last one. I also thought it might be time to take a good look at HTML5 that … Continue reading →

OK I thought it might be time to create a new free template as it has been well over a year since my last one.

I also thought it might be time to take a good look at HTML5 that everyone has been raving about so here is my first attempt at a template using HTML5 – basicHTML5:

As this is my first proper look into HTML5 I am sure that there might be a few issues or problems with it and make no guarantees that it is 100% correct in all particulars. However it has been checked against the W3C HTML5 validator and checks out OK.

[basichtml5 basichtml5=""]

Please take a look and comment about any changes or problems with it as I’m sure there will be many with more knowledge about HTML5.

Overall I’m excited about this and look forward to hopefully full browser compatibility in the near future, especially with Microsoft finally getting its act together (maybe!) with the release of IE9 which has full standards support for HTML5 – http://bit.ly/dALN6J

Anyway please let me know your thoughts and any problems, I will update the template as and when I come across issues and hopefully get a few more template designed and ready for download.
